Features
\ Navigating through Folders
Power Drawers
enhances the right-click menu for folders so you
can save time and memory every time you access files or programs. Once
Power Drawers is installed, right-clicking on a folder opens a menu
showing its files and subfolders. You can access anything in that folder or
in any subfolders just by moving down the menu and left-clicking on a menu item.
This allows you to run programs and open documents and folders much faster than otherwise possible. If you
click on any document or program, then it is opened or launched as
appropriate.
If you click on a folder, then that folder opens in Explorer.
See File/Folder Management for additional tasks
you can do from a Power Drawers menu.
The real power of this enhancement is in accessing files several
levels deep from the initial folder. The example below illustrates the speed and
usefulness of Power Drawers.
A Real World Example
Let’s say
you want to open a letter called Letter to VP.doc.
You might not be absolutely certain where it was stored but you know it’s
somewhere under the Our Company folder.
Was it in the Our Company\International\
folder or perhaps somewhere under Our Company\Corporate Strategy?
Without Power Drawers, you would start by minimizing any open windows so you can open the My Documents
folder on your desktop. Then you would open the Our Company
folder, followed by opening many of the folders and subfolders under Our
Company and possibly going back up the chain
several times to find Letter to VP.doc,
then double-clicking to open it. After
editing the document and closing Word, you still have many Explorer
windows open, slowing your computer down and consuming memory, so you have to close them
all one by one. Power Drawers
offers a better way that's both simpler and faster.

Opening and closing all those Explorer windows
is a waste of time and memory and can make it hard to find a file you're looking
for. Power Drawers lets you find and open files a lot easier and faster. As in
the screenshot above, right-click on My Documents
to open it’s menu, then move down the menu to Our Company,
Marketing, Plans
and left-click there on Letter to VP.doc.
As shown in the screen shot, click,
drag the mouse down through the menus and then one click replaces all the
hunting and opening and closing of Explorer windows. Power Drawers menus are
simply a faster, more memory efficient and more powerful way to navigate through
folders to find and open any sort of file or program.
Every time you use
Power Drawers to access a file, you will be saving time and memory. Keep in mind that you can still open and close folders the normal way,
but once you get used to the speed of Power Drawers menus, you
won’t want to go back. Time is money. Don’t waste your time and energy
traversing Explorer windows when there’s a better way. See File/Folder
Management for additional tasks you can do from a Power Drawers menu.
