Features \ Screensaver Passwords
Use Power Drawers to secure your workstation quickly and easily any time you are leaving your desk. The best security system won’t do any good if you don’t use it, so we’ve made screensaver password security fast and easy. Once your screensaver starts with the password enabled, your computer can’t be accessed until the correct password is typed in. Screensaver password security is sufficient to keep most users from accessing your PC.  See Screensaver Control for more screensaver features in Power Drawers.

If you leave your computer on while at a meeting or while your office is cleaned, it’s very easy for someone to accidentally mess up your computer and delete files by moving or dropping things on your keyboard or mouse. If password protection is turned on, you eliminate the possibility of such accidental disruption as well as keeping out intentional snoops

Password Security Options
Power Drawers gives you flexibility when using screensaver password security. Use the Enable/Disable Password Security menu item to enable or disable screensaver passwords all the time.  Even if password security is off, you can lock your workstation with the current screensaver now by selecting the Run <current screensaver> password secured menu item or by moving the cursor to the Enable Corner of your screen while the Ctrl key is held down.

Password Warning Countdown
For your peace of mind, you want to be sure you have secured your workstation before walking away. Therefore, Power Drawers includes a large password warning countdown before invoking a password-protected screensaver. During the brief countdown, you can stop the screensaver from engaging (if you're not sure you remember the password). Once the screensaver starts, you can be assured that your workstation is locked until the correct password is entered again.

The security improvement is particularly useful in NT 4.0, Win 2000 or Win XP.   In these versions of Windows without Power Drawers installed,  password-protected screensavers are not locked when they start and you can't invoke a password-protected screensaver manually. Power Drawers Screensaver Control fixes these problems and allows you to use screensaver password security as a quick, easy and effective security measure.

The Power Drawers screensaver taskbar icon lets you know if screensaver password security is enabled or not.
