\ Screensaver Control
The
Screensaver Taskbar Icon shows the current screensaver status and provides quick
access to test, configure, and run screensavers with or without password
protection. You can more easily protect your computer from snoops and accidental
or intentional disruption by using Power Drawers’ flexible password security
controls.
General
Screensaver Configuration
To quickly access screensaver configuration in the Windows control panel,
either double-click on the Screensaver taskbar icon or select the Screensaver
Configuration option from the taskbar icon’s right-click menu.
Use the Enable Screensaver
menu item to turn screensaving on.
If screensaving is enabled, the same menu item will say Disable
Screensaver and allow you to disable screensaving. The enabled/disabled status
is shown by the taskbar icon.
Screensaver
Passwords
The Screensaver Taskbar Icon is the easiest way to manage screensaver password
protection so that your computer is safe from accidental or intentional
disruption. See Screensaver Password Security
for details.

Enable/Disable
Corners..
Use the Enable/Disable
Corners menu item to configure corners of your screen to activate or
deactivate the current screensaver. Once configured, you can start the
screensaver by moving your mouse to one corner of your screen or stop the
screensaver from starting by putting the mouse in a different corner of the
screen. If you hold the Ctrl key down when putting the cursor in the
Enable corner, the current screensaver is invoked with password protection even
if password protection is normally turned off.
This provides you with a fast, effective way to:
1) activate your screensaver when leaving your computer
2) lock your workstation before leaving it
3) stop the screensaver from starting when doing a presentation that you don't
want interrupted by a screensaver
The
Screensaver Control Corners dialog shows a computer screen with a green circle
and red X in two corners of it.
The green circle is the enable corner.
If you drag the green
circle to a corner of the small computer screen (and click on OK to save
changes), then moving your cursor to the same corner of your actual screen will
activate the screensaver. If you have multiple monitors on your computer, the
Enable and Disable Corners will always be on your primary monitor.
The red
X allows you to similarly configure a disable corner to stop the
screensaver from activating. This feature is could be useful during
presentations.
For your convenience, Power Drawers will show a small red X if the cursor
is in the disable corner to let you know you are in the right place.
