Every time I right-click on any folder, it crashes. |
Stability is the most important factor to us and we want to
get everything working for you ASAP. Since Power Drawers has no known errors and
has been rigorously tested on Windows 95,98,Me,NT 4.0 and Windows 2000, it
shouldn't be possible to get this type of error. However, such errors are
possible if you have other shell extensions installed and one or more of them
is interfering with Power Drawers. Any software that puts menu items on a
right-click menu for folders or files is a shell extension.
When you installed Power Drawers, it recorded a list of other installed shell
extensions into the file otherShell.txt in your Power Drawers folder
(C:\Program Files\PowerDrawers by default). Shell extensions have to be
carefully written to not interfere with each other or Windows itself because all
shell extensions share the same memory space. We were very careful when making
and testing Power Drawers. However, one bad shell extension can make the other
ones fail. Simply having too many shell extensions installed could also cause
unexpected errors and crashes.
Therefore, take a look at the shell extensions listed in otherShell.txt.
If there are other shell extensions listed, consider deinstalling one or more of
them depending on how important they are. Many users have shell extensions
installed that they tried once and aren't even using. If
you contact us about any sort of crashing problem, we will need to see a copy of
your otherShell.txt
file so we can duplicate your setup on one of our test machines. Click

Another possible reason for Power Drawers not to work is if you have installed a
total shell replacement. Shell replacements such as LiteStep and Window Blinds
affect the system much more radically than a shell extension and could interfere
with Power Drawers. If you are using a shell replacement, give us the full
details about what you have installed if contacting us about an error. Click
