Organizer cleaned my desktop. How do I get it messy again? |
After
PowerOrganizer auto-classifies applications for quick access, it gives you the
option of removing duplicate shortcuts from the desktop. This is a great benefit
because most users have many desktop shortcuts they don't use or are dead
shortcuts to applications that no longer exist.
If you answered Yes to having duplicate shortcuts removed from the
desktop and then changed your mind, you can get some or all of those shortcuts
back again. Such duplicate desktop shortcuts are stored in the
DuplicateShortcuts subfolder of your Power Drawers folder (C:\Program
Files\PowerDrawers\DuplicateShortcuts by default). Just copy some or all of
those shortcuts back onto the desktop if you want them back.
If you have uninstalled Power Drawers, the DuplicateShortcuts folder will have
been removed as part of the
uninstall process. Therefore, only uninstall Power Drawers if you no longer wish to use the
software.
However, even if you already uninstalled (removing the DuplicateShortcuts folder), shortcuts to everything that was on the desktop are still in the Internet, Programs, and Utilities folders. Simply copy the shortcuts that you want back onto the desktop.
As a separate but related issue, PowerOrganizer creates folders called Internet, Programs, and Utilities on the desktop. Because a user could customize and put actual files in such folders, the uninstaller does not remove them.
