Power Drawers
includes an Active Updater to check for
and install updates automatically or when you specify. Use the Updater controls
to schedule update checks and control update automation. The updater makes
Power Drawers a self-healing and self-maintaining software package.

Accessing
the Updater
The Power Drawers Active Updater is accessible from the Power Drawers Taskbar
Icon and from the Power Drawers Configuration Dialog. To open the Updater from the taskbar
icon, right-click on the Power Drawers taskbar icon, then open Power Drawers
on the Web and select Check for
Updates... To run the Updater from the Power Drawers Configuration dialog, go
to the About/Update tab and click the Check
Now.. button in the Update section.
Update
Automation
The Updater can be set for full, partial, or no automation in the Power Drawers
Configuration dialog, About/Update tab. If set for full or partial automation,
it will automatically check for updates at a set interval (once a day or once a
week at designated days and/or times). On full automation (Check for updates and install automatically), Power Drawers updates
itself and you don’t have to do anything or be bothered with any details. A
log is kept of all installation activity and the date and time of the most
recent update check is displayed in this dialog for your convenience. On partial
automation (Scheduled updated checks,
need user OK to install), the Updater will automatically check for updates
at intervals. If there is a new update, it will ask for your OK before
proceeding to install. On Manual (user
initiates all update checking) it takes no action on it’s own and you must
initiate any update checking and installation.
