public videos below. You will see entertaining
public demonstrations of a lot of what we teach
including combat, forms, weapons, grappling and chi
sao energy training.

Interested in Learning Wing Chun?
If you are
interested in learning Wing Chun, these videos
give you a taste for the style and broad
application of what we teach. We start
students with the basics and gradually
introduce more complexity to expand a
student's comfort zone. Wing Chun isn't all
about fighting or even self defense, it's an
ideal way to develop fitness, balance, relieve
stress, and increase your mental and physical
confidence.
Please note that we don't show everything we teach
in these demos. Some of the most powerful aspects of
Wing Chun don't translate into visual demonstration.
If you like what
you see, the real test is coming in to try it
yourself. We have two convenient schools
teaching in the greater Victoria area, Dynamic
Defense Wing Chun Academy has been teaching in
Saanich near Elk Lake for 8 years and the new
Wing Chun Punch Club is about to open in
Colwood.
If you like
what you see, considering coming in and trying a Wing
Chun class for yourself. The greatest investment you can
ever make is in self improvement.

Boat Festival Aug 2010
Sil
Lum Tao (2:11)
Introducing our demo team and the Sil Lum Tao,
the first form of Wing Chun, with the twist of
showing combative application open handed,
against swords and against sticks.
Self
Defense (blindfolded)
(2:38)
Self defense applications of Wing Chun against
grabs, chokes, bear hugs, pulls, full nelson,
and anything else, then showing all those
defenses against 3 attackers while
blindfolded. Truth is in what you feel, not
what you see.
One-Armed Defense
(1:21)
Wing Chun is so efficient, we don't even need
both hands. Efficiency is one of the 4 main
principles of the art. Who needs two hands
when one hand can take care of anything?
Combat & Chum Kil form
(2:18)
Wing Chun is constructed so defense is
possible against bigger, faster opponents.
Laura handily manages hard attacks from 2
larger attackers.
Chum Kil is the 2nd form in Wing Chun,
"bridging the gap" with an evolving skill set.
Wooden Dummy form with 4 live attackers &
Combat
(2:43)
Wing Chun's wooden dummy (mook jong) is an
excellent training tool and the form contains
useful fighting technique, shown here against
4 live attackers.
Intermediate level combative defenses against
2 attackers.
Blindfolded Chi Sao (Contact Sensitivity)
(1:35)
Wing Chun's use of Chi Sao (contact
sensitivity) allows a practitioner to prevent
attacks before they start and strike openings
before the conscious mind is aware of them.
Properly trained chi sao raises mere combat
technique to a much higher level of quality,
speed, efficiency and safety.
Long Staff Form & Combat Defenses
(2:06)
Wing Chun's techniques are simple and
universally powerful. It contains specific
techniques for using certain weapons like
poles, sticks, swords and knives, but can be
generalized to use and defend against almost
anything.
Bil
Jee Form (1:48)
The Bil Jee is the most advanced open-handed
form in Wing Chun, including the powerful use
of elbows and finger thrusts in targeted
strikes to end combat early without argument.
However, the form itself is both peaceful and
graceful.
Ground, Kneeling, & Seated Defenses
(4:42)
Wing Chun translates to any combat situation.
If you are knocked to the ground, are attacked
while kneeling halfway to standing, attacked
while stuck in a chair, or standing around
minding your own business, Wing Chun has all
defenses for whatever may come at you. Brent
and Jeremy show it is nothing to get worried
about as long as you have good technique, well
practised.
Butterfly Sword Form & Combat
(3:20)
The Butterfly swords seem like unusual
weapons, but they are not. Every open handed
defense has an equivalent with weapons and
vice versa, making it easier to remember and
apply. The sword techniques are extremely
powerful with found weapons (like sticks,
towels or brooms ala Jackie Chan), but also
applied open-handed.
Knife
Chi Sao & Combat
(4:18)
Knives are very dangerous, but Wing Chun
provides simple and powerful ways to defend
against and use knives in combat to defuse
threatening situations.
Multiple Attacker Sparring
(2:18)
If one or two attackers are dangerous, imagine
a gang of 6 attacking with a cartload of
weapons! Fortunately, in our demo, we have two
trained defenders who keep their heads, taking
their take in efficiently dissolving all
attacks including punches, kicks, knives,
swords, sticks, staffs and brooms.
MS
Society June 2010
(7:54)
In this 8
minute demo, the Dynamic Dragons Demo Team shows
a lot in a short period of time. We
demonstrate some of the basic
forms, combat applications, weapons, one armed
defense and multiple attacker defenses of Wing
Chun. It's an example of a very
concise and entertaining show packed into a
few minutes. We can fit our demo to whatever
length of time is provided.

All Forms (1:24)
The Dynamic
Dragons demonstrate all Wing Chun forms
simultaneously, including the Sil Lum Tao,
Chum Kil, Bil Jee and Baat Chum Bart Dao sword
form.
One Armed Defense (1:18)
Wing Chun's
simplicity is obvious as our team show
defenses & counters for any attack using only
one arm.
Kneeling to Standing (4:11)
Wing Chun
translates to any position, from ground
fighting, to kneeling, to sitting or standing.
It works against knives, swords, sticks, bats,
poles.
Defend Anything from Any Position (4:28)
Our senior
members of the team, Sifu Bill and Sihing
Jeremy show defenses from all positions
against any kind of weapon, including knives,
swords, sticks, bats, poles. Also watch out
for "found" weapons someone can throw at you
such as nunchucks, buckets and brooms!
Ip
Man
This is a
great movie made about Yip Man (sometimes
written Ip Man), one of the most legendary
Wing Chun masters in recent history. Many know
that he was Bruce Lee's Sifu. But there is so
much more that is amazing and enriches the
human spirit in the story of Ip Man. He was a
true gentleman, embodying all that Wing Chun
represents as both a powerful defense system
and approach to dissolving conflict in the
simplest way.
"Sifu Bill makes class fun,
interesting, and energetic,
but preserves the customs and traditions of
the art...I have learned more in six months
of Wing Chun than is possible anywhere
else."
-Jordan
Steele
"Dynamic Defense has been an
excellent way for me to get back in shape.I
really enjoy Sifu Bill’s teaching methods.."
-John
Browett
"Wing
Chun has given me the understanding of "forward
intention" in dealing with personal problem solving.
This is the
awareness of setting boundaries.."
